Someone has probably thought about this before, but I've never seen it mentioned anywhere. I think it would be cool if one of the mapping card brands partnered with Google to do a lake level view like Google's street level view instead of just the aerial view that some of them already have. It would be so awesome to see the lake's shores and coves from the water level. I believe it would greatly enhance putting a plan together to fish lakes you've never fished before or have only fished a few times. Google would just drive their boat(s) around the edges and any middle lake structures or maybe they could use drone technology to get the lake level shoreline/structure views. I really think it would aid fishermen and boaters in many ways with planning and safety. If you have any thoughts on this please share?

Nickajack already has it. Go to google earth and zoom in around Sullivan’s and the blue line shows up for you to drop the man for in the middle of the river.

I just looked at it and that’s pretty cool but it’s not very detailed such as outlining all the banks. I think a detailed version of this would be the next step in rounding out lake maps. I also think there’d be a definite market for this sort of thing. I know I’d purchase it lol. It sure would save on boat gas and wasted time if I could better determine the areas/spots where I wanted to fish.
