me and a friend are looking for coon hunting property just coon we dont like deer/turkey or anything else hard to find places any more

Its not that hard to find a place, I could understand if you were wanting to hunt Quail. Are you wanting to lease land for coons or just somewhere to hunt? Have you hunted some of the public land in Hamilton,Marion county. Im sure there are dove fields that have been sown near water/swamp/creeks, might check some of them out. I would be willing to show you some big coons if you have the dogs.

hard to find somewhere with enough property. dogs can cover alot of ground in a hurry. 150-200 acres will hold a dog for about 10-15 minutes from my experience. 9 times out of 10 you end up on someone else's property.

Yes i would be willing to get on a lease,or do odd jobs for the land owner or lease holder. In reply to dogs getting on other people's property. My dogs have quiet often.I usually go to the property owner's door and let them know what is going on.Most people are very understanding and let me just get the dogs.I have sereval places here close to my home, but I get tired of hunting the same places all the time.Thank you for your input everyone.

I will check on a few places I used to hunt. Where are you located at? Most of the places I used to hunt are between athens and decatur. You are right about asking the land owner if they will let you go get your dogs on their property. There have been a few times it has even opened doors to more property I could hunt. Most people are very understanding. Love listening to a couple good dogs work a track.

i live in soddy do not care to travel.most of my hunting is mnt hunting have a few quick places here in the valley, but subdivisions are taking most of them away quickly.my kids will never get the plesure to hunt the way i was brought up.glad they cant build houses on the water or we would be out of a place to fish also. emoBang emoBang
