Heading to the Coosa river Saturday and was wondering if anyone had any tips they could share with me for some bass. I have never fished there, don't know what to expect. I have been told the white bass are running,so if all else fails I'll hit those suckers up but I would really like to find some spots and largemouth. Thanks in advance.emoThumbsup

the only dam on the river is in rome and there some verrrrrrry mean spots down that way you'll have a blast down there lots of blow downs in the river they cant stand a fluke jerked through the tops and if the whitebass are there better watch out for the stripe if the stripe are there go down river there is a large bend in the river you cant miss it thats where the big boys hang out

good luck

WE HAVE BEEN FISHING FROM BRUSHY BRANCH NORTH TO THE HWY 100 BRIDGE ON COOSA.. MOST OF OUR QUALITY FISH CAME OUT OF THE MOUTH OF DEEPER CUTS AND CREEKS SUCH AS CANE CREEK AND BURNS BOTTOM.. IF THE CURRENT IS RUNNING STRONG LOOK FOR THE ROCK LEDGES.....
...................JUST REMEMBER..THEY ARE COLD AND SLOW..MOST OF OUR QUALITY FISH FELT LIKE A SMALL HENPECK...
HOPE THIS HELPS.;)

Ditto Big L,

Most of my spots have come from creek mouths. The larger ones seem to hold fish year round. Zoom 6" finesse worm in green pumpkin or watermelon rigged shaky head and fished slow has been extremely productive for me lately. The bite will be subtle but the fight is as good as it gets. Have had success with spinnerbait also fished slow stop and go.

Good luck and I hope you lay into some big ones!

Make sure you have a Georgia fishing liscense.

Got one today pointer. As for where we are fishing,we are running up to the dam and letting the current take us on down.
