What can you use on cork rod handles to keep them looking new? Mine seem to be drying out then they crack.:( :(

GoJo without the pumice is the best thing I have used. Looks new, stays soft

I read a tip about applying "original" armor all, sanding lightly with fine sandpaper, then repeating the process once more. Tried it on a couple of older rods and the cork looks great. Feels better too. emoSmile

Dr. What I would do if I were you. Is get a realy high speed grinder. Somthing with alot of horsepower & a realy gritty bit. Just lay in to those handles & don't let off. Now it wont be easy, you'll have to stick with it for a while but. I know you've got it in ya! Most people (I hear) from up north are like that). Stick with it don't give up & right before you get down to the rod stop! It won't seem as thick, but I hear you have small hands any ways!

P.S. start with your most $$$$$ rods first. Now this won't help your rods, but Doug (your partner says you won't put your rod down to dip a good fish for him) so I figure if you have no rods in the boat you'll get more fish in the livewell A.E Making you a better fisherman! I heard he was catching all the good fish anyhow!

I just take a old toothbrush and put some dishwashing stuff like dawn or equiv. Then i just scrub the cork handles and they pretty much look like new afterwards and feel alot cleaner.
