I just bought a new pair of Costa Tropic star sunglasses with the interchangeable lens system. The lenses are all framed so you just pop that part of the frame out and stick in the new ones. I bought a pair of Oakley half jackets last year in amber and while I liked them just fine off the water I couldn't stand them on the water. The waves or ripples on the water surface just had some un-explainable effect on the oakley's that I just couldn't tolerate. I felt like my vision was worse with them. the new Costa's are crystal clear and my vision actually seems much improved with them. I would say you get what you payed for but the Oakleys actaully cost more. I bought the Costas at Sportsmans Warehouse. I highly recommend them.

Dang...beetlespin can I come to work for you? Ranger Z boat and now those.emoDoh I got mine from Wally World for about 15 bucks. They are the same glasses that you see these older folks with cataract surgery wearing.emoDance Hey, don't laugh they make great glasses for seeing down into the water at bedding bass and when hauling down the lake your eyes are completely inclosed.emoTongue Jmax

I got a pair of Costa's last year and love them. It is amazing what you can see with them on. Worth every penny of the $120 I spent on them.

Plus they make me look cool.emoCool

I spent $45 for Polar Eyes. I haven't had them on the water, and as we speak, they are actually sitting at my sister's place, where I left them this weekend.

I might have to look into a pair of the Costa's.

You get what you pay for in shades, it just sucks to loose an expensive pair. I'm the king of cheap sunglasses nowadays.

I've had the same oakleys for 12 years now,but I do need a new pair. My oakleys are scratched up pretty good. I like the solar bat sun glasses, I found them in Bass pro shops. Not overly expensive.

I've got several different sunglasses. I have a pair of Costa Fathoms and really like them. I may have to upgrade to the Costas with the 580 lenses, they are supposed to be incredible.

I'm a big Costa Del Mar fan. I want a pair with amber lenses, but for now all I have are dark gray tinted ones.

I have allergy trouble, and in the spring the combination of congestion and glare can give me one honkin' big headache (as the guy on the Ford commerical says, "Honkin' IS a technical term."). I bought the CDM's about 2 years ago and don't have nearly the headache trouble I used to have.

My dad might qualify for the king of cheap sunglasses. I counted one day how many pairs of Bill Dance sunglasses he had stored on his boat...I stopped counting after I found 4 pair...I didn't count the old ones in his shop, which were probably another three or four pair...

The saddest part is, I still have to hide my CDM's from him when we are fishing together. He can have four pairs of Bill Dance glasses, and STILL he grabs mine. His head is wider (it IS!) than mine, so I have to watch him or he'll stretch my pair out beyond wearability. It has happened.

I have a pair of Pescadors for fishing a pair of Fluid ILS with vermillion, amber and gray lenses for driving and a pair of Mainsails in my spare pickup.
Costas are the best sunglasses that I have tried. Great optical quality lenses and a lifetime guarantee. When I first bought a pair of quality sunglasses at the recommendation of my optometrist I was afraid I would lose or break them. Believe me when you pay $200 for sunglasses you will baby them. I got 5 years from some Gargoyles, 7 years from some Oakleys and so far 4 years on the first pair of Costas which I still have and a year apiece from the other Costas which I still have. My fishing glasses stay in the tackle bag and the others stay in their places in my pickups.
Fish all day or drive all day and the Costas will leave your eyes fresh.

i've tried several brands and i have them from $1. each at the dollar store for working and or fishing so that when i bend over and drop them in i don't get mad or sick. up to some that cost over $200 that i bought from bass pro and i have only worn twice because in cold weather fishing the glass lenses fogged up to much then in hot weather when it was real humid they did the same thing, even when sprayed with an anti-fog spray. i also have some CDM's and you are right the optical quality on them is great! but another little trick one of my fishing buddies taught me is when we went to Weiss lake one time and were sight fishing he was describing bass to me on several places that -no matter how hard i tried to see them- i could not see them. so we got to talking and he said oh, the problem may be the glasses you have on (don't remember which ones they were, but probably bill dance from wal-mart $10-$12). we swapped glasses and sure enough the 2 fish he was describing were there plain as day and i could see their every move. he was wearing FLYING FISHERMAN glasses that he had bought at kirk's on hwy-72, so we stopped back by there and i bought 2 pair for about $14 each although the ones i was wearing that day were polarized the FF's are SO MUCH BETTER! for the money for sight fishing and taking a chance of looosing them the FF's are hard to beat! if money is no object i'm sure the CDM's are better but if you can find any Flying Fisherman's try them.
