Shad and bass color work the best.... But for me when you actually locate a school of bass even if it is just a few it doesn't seem to matter what color it is. I think the depth and action it presents depends the most.
I like the H2O express square bills they work great. I fished bandits for years the but the h20s are half the price and catch fish. I have beem catching them on a h2o S model in sexy ghost color. I also like the bluegill color
Lots of folks using the rc1.5s and the strike king 1.5s. Both great baits. I try not to get to caught up in colors but there is some purty crankbaits these days
Bass Pro Shops XPS Lazer Eye - Medium Crank. I fish them on fairly light line. I get a lot of action on Blue Back Chartreuse...Chartreuse Green Craw...Crawfish Boil...and Firetiger -- while bass are chasing bream on bed.
I bought a couple of the Azuma deep cranks... they are way easier to crank and they dive very deep with almost no effort. I like that part... I have yet to catch a fish on one though..... But that's probably not the baits fault.... I have been know to suck with multiple types of bait...
Now that we "finally" have some current a good summer ledge crank is a Bomber Fat Free Shad. I like to fish the big BD7's and BD8's. A long lightweight rod with a good backbone is a must. Just let 'em fly -- weeeeeeeeeeeee ! I took this pic of some of the crankbaits I used one day a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure how that swimbait snuck in there. emoScratch emoLaugh
