crankbaits for crappie?

Has anyone tried trolling crankbaits for crappie yet? Is the water warm enough? Was thinking about trying it this weekend if i can get out fishing. Someone told me the water may not be warm enough yet. Seems like the crappie have disappeared.

We have a guy from the Knoxville area who comes down & stays at Island Cove regularly that caught them good a couple of weeks ago trolling #5 shad raps.

They were hitting baby brush hogs a week or two ago. We had 3 go over 14inches on them

I have had some big slabs hit big crankbait and 3/4 spinner baits while ive been bass fishing the last 2 weeks
