Went out this morning and stayed about 4 hours. Brought home eight keepers and released several others. Was kinda slow, but had a good time. Most caught in 2 to 6 feet of water on 1/16 jig. Put in at Blue Water Campground at Dayton...
Oh, almost forgot....tried out my new Pflueger President spinning reel and rod. Loved it except the handle was a bit long. Fixed that when I got home. Shortened the handle about 5 inches and can't wait to go back. Gread rod and reel combo...

Were the fish along channels, in sloughs, on flats? How did you know where to find the fish? Were they in brush? I'd be interested if the fish up there are positioned in similar spots down here. 2-6 feet is shallow for where we've been catching them down river.

Fish were not on channels or brush. About 20-30 ft from channels and I guess you would say it was flats......about how I know where to find them....... I guess trial and error.... fished mostly where I usually do......I don't know how to fish for crappie in deep water.....matter of fact, this is just the second year I have ever crappie fished.....can someone show me how?????
