Crappie 2-29 on Chick

Well, finally got to go wet a line. Tried out my new President reel you guys suggested........all smiles, really smooth reel......love it.
Started off walkin bank in Ramsey, fished a couple hrs, not even a hit. Headed over to the Park and wound up catching 6, with 3 of them keepers over 11 inches and one yellow stripe.
All were caught under a float about 3 foot deep using assasins. Took a really slow retrieve, only one was agressive. Don't know how many I missed but it was several.
Want be long and they will be easier and more abundant to us bank fishin folks soon. emoBigsmile

I would expect that the fish will be in Ramsey slough once the die off of shad is finished as the water temp in that slough is in the low to mid 50's already. Late in the afternoon today at my dock the water temp was 61 degrees. The water at my dock is much more stained than in Ramsey slough but that warm water is heading that way. Thanks for the report.

I hope everyone remembers that you need a new License for 2007, it expired the last day in Feb on the 28th....emoScratch ....or maybe it was the 29th?emoLaugh

Yep .. I'm the issue girl. Hey I got my license yesterday at Sportsman Warehouse. BOY that place is HUGE!!! I had to be at the tax man's office by 3:00 and was almost late spending so much time in there just gawking at everything. I did manage to purchase some crappie items ... really cool grub plastics and some jig heads in colors that are very complimentary to my new fishing rig.

I also got a floater .. so I can go try some fancy fishing along the bank. Thanks MB and FA for the suggestions. A person could spend a day there looking at all the cool stuff they have. I was especially interested in some of their outdoor cooking items. I was looking for something that would make the FOF's more efficient. But ... didn't really have time to contemplate the inventory. Maybe a return trip soon will be on the schedule.
