Well, today was very windy, but a good day after the rain. Lots of trash floating in the water that made trolling almost not worth it. After fishing for about a hour and only catching two crappie and two bass I was about to give it up. Then I went to the back of a slough known as highout and they were there. Several crappie on the first pass with two more bass. Caught one nice 4 pound cat. Using jigs tipped with minnows. Water has some color to it, but not much for this slough is a deadend. TVA has raised lake at least 2 feet from this time last week. Color of jig did not matter for the 5 rods I used they all hit very well and all jigs were different on each rod. Lots of times when I took off the trash off the jigs it would have red worms attached. This is what the fish were feeding on today. Overall a very good day. Caught over 40 fish with 17 that I kept. Caught over 10 bass no keepers except a few spots that I let go back to grow. Caught one nice perch. Get out there for the fish are still doing it.
