OK, folks, it is down to this. I have almost decided what to buy but I still need some help. I am basically down to 2 choices: G3 1966 Center Console with 90 Yamaha four stroke or Carolina Skiff 198 DLV or maybe DLX with 90 Evinrude E-Tech. What do you all think. Actually the money is pretty much the same. Remember, mostly crappie fishing alone with an occasional partner and sometimes pulling the grandsons around on a tube. Your opinion is very valuable to me. This is such a great place to get help. Thanks for the forum.

Although there is nothing wrong with the G3, it wouldnt even be a question for me. Get the Skiff, hands down. More room is the ticket!

They are both great boats , I realy like the engine choice on the G-3 better " not a big fan of evenrude" and maybe Doc can chime in here that seems like a small motor for a Carolina skiff??115 or 150 seems like a better motor size to me for that boat... just my .02

Call Chatlee boats in Sanford NC for the cheapest Carolina Skiff in the USA. New or used. 919-775-7259

DLV hands down Murdock. Best ride by far of the 3 you mentioned. E-Tec motors are great but you can get a Suziki 4 stroke 115 horsepower for less money than the 90 Evinrude.

PJ, DOC has a Suzuki on his 21', and she moves along great. It aint no Bettlespin boat-speed, but 'normal" folks would like it!</p>

Went to Carolina skiff and they have it rated for a 115 max hp so your right a 90 should push it fine.. I was thinking about a lrg boat 21 ft area.. like DocsemoScratch

I have a 115 hp suzuki 4 stroke on my boat, it does 42 mph with 2 or 3 in it, sips gas, has a 6 year warranty and has a load capacity of 16 people, I don't know where you would put that many, maybe it is standing room only, I got the biminni top too, it is worth it's weight in gold for those hot days fishing and you want a bit of shade.
