Fished 2 hours today between 11:00 and 1:00 with my wife in Savannah bay. Water temp has reached 67 in some places and Crappie have moved to the shoreline. We caught fish against the bank near brush. Females are full of eggs, but it doesn't appear that they are quite ready to drop them yet. It won't be long.:)

How did you get back in there? I thought that with the water down that it would be next to impossible to get in there. I haven't been back in there with the water down before. Was there any baitfish movement back there or what looked like bass moving? You are talking about back behind Snow hill bridge aren't you?

Plastic minnows and tube jigs. This week should be great unless this little cold front stalls the fish out. I'll probably go again tomorrow afternoon. Can't make it in the morning.

No, I was fishing just beyond the Savannah/Wolftever split, about 1/4 mile, no more. Water is 10 feet deep there, but the fish were right up on the banks within a foot or so.

I was thinking that with the TVA draino program going on that it would take so much time to get back there into savanah bay that your fishing day would be half gone once you got to the fishing part. In a month there will be enough water to get back there without any trouble. I plan to learn that area better this spring and summer. Have you ever found the stump row that you can see standing up back in Savanah bay when the water is down, after the water comes up? I would expect that it would hold lots of fish but it's out in the middle and have never really been able to find it once the water was up.
