Fishing Fire and I started out about 8 am this morning. Stopped at Hamiltons and it looked like the scene off Jaws where the woman puts up the $5000 reward for the shark! Every boat in Hamitlon County must have decided to stop at the same time. I actually felt kinda sorry for the old folks that were working in there. They were swamped!

We put in at Harrison Bay and fished some around the docks with no luck. Headed out to an area with some stumps and brush and did better. Most of our fish came in around 6 feet of water with minnows and jigs fished under a bobber. Some of them were pretty good slabs. The hits seemed aggressive so I'd say they will even go more shallow in the next couple of days to get ready for spawn. Water temp was about 60 degrees, down 2 degrees from last Thursday. Water was up about a foot. We caught 24 fish with 18 of them keepers. Not a lot of throwbacks this time round. The fish pigment looked really dark this time round. We actually did better for them last week in these stumps/brush so I suppose the cold front still had the ones we were after pushed a little deeper. I'm sure someone torn them up today if they found the right depth and color! I'd say Friday is going to be a banner day for them if TVA will not pull the plug on the water levels.

Good Report FF!!

Looks like it is about to "happen" on Chickamauga!

I will be nothing more than a cheerleader rootin' you folks on catching the crappie the next few weeks.

Turkey season opens this weekend.

Hope you load the boat down! I also hope Gates, Rauls, and I kill 9 turkeys by Monday morning, then we may have time to go after some crappie with you!!haha

Great report, Terry, and oh me, my boat is still in the shop. The little problem that I have with it just won't show up at the shop. They can't get it to fail. I'm missing some prime crappie fishing time. emoDoh :( emoGeezer

Drumking you gotta get that thing fixed so we can go after them again! Catfish are really moving up and so are the bream and shellcracker. You don't want to be land bound over the next few weeks!

Been walkin the banks, last two days and not one single crappie :( I be glad if when they come back shallow again. Was catching a few last week but not many at that.
Been to Ramsey a few times but no bites there as of yet.

Looks like you and FishinFire, had a good day tho :)

Hey Lone Oak it was a good just to be out, regardless of the fishing! I think they'll be coming in pretty shallow today and tomorrow (Friday). By Saturday it should be a free for all! Anyone fishing from the bank should connect with a few. Who knew we were going to have almost 90 (forecast of 86 degrees!) degree weather in March. Makes me dread the summer!

Yea, were hopeing that these hot days are goin to bring um back up. I sure dred the summer heat tho. You would think bein a firefighter all them yrs, I would get use to it......... emoLaugh but not the case. Got to hot a few times and now just don't care nuttin about summer temps.

Weenies! :) The hotter the better .. all you have to do is take your dog to the lake and spend the day swimming!!! emoPoke

I should know .. I do that A LOT starting in another month or so. Can't wait either.

TT

Yeah TT WOULD like hot weather with her working for the power board and all! emoPoke I'll be she gets a raise for every time the temp goes over 95! emoLaugh emoLaugh emoLaugh Just kidding TT!

Lone Oak I think that age has some to do with it. I used to be able to go out on hot days and stay out until the sun went down. No more. I just can't deal with it like I used to. I guess I'm getting soft from all the air conditioning.

The other thing is I think the summers around here are much, much more brutal, humid and hot than they were 20 years ago. We are in a cycle where we don't see a lot of rain and everything is dead or dying by late June. Our water situation is critical right now. We are in what is becoming a severe drought and the hot temps do nothing to help that.

I think that I'm gonna go get it tomorrow afternoon whether it is fixed or not. Too many fish to be caught and I don't like walking the banks anymore. We will go get them again soon, FF.emoGeezer
