My wife and I fished this morning until 11:30 and we caught 20 keepers. The fish seemed to be more scattered today. All were caught tight lining grubs and a little minnow bait that looks like a sassy shad (1 1/2") that I purchased from Action Plastics. Wish that I had time to stay longer today, but I have a Bible study tonight.

Drumking,

Sounds like you are on the crappie! Thanks for the reports... I might have to try for them after work next week!

Amen, brother, and there's nothing like having a good wife that will put on 3 sets of clothes to stay warm and go fishing with you on these chilly mornings. (And kept all 3 sets on too.)emoAngel

well might as well put in my .02 worth as someone says ...

took off at 2:00 today from work, purchased 3 doz shinners and headed over to wolftever. Sat there for 3 hours ... used about 12 shinners ... and didn't get a single bite.

I was around the corner from the docks on the rocks. Oh well ...

It's all good .. I met JSV! So today wasn't a total loss! Nice fella!

Hope he had better luck than I.

TT

yea i got off work at 3:30 and headed towards the pine harbor area, fishing off the bank, is not cutting for the crappie, to day i came up with some bream, and little drum.

Hi drumking,
thanks for the report. How deep were they?

I would say that the fish today were about 6 feet deep. We never caught more than 2 at the same place. We had to move around a lot. Of course, we would come back to the same places and catch another one after resting them for 30 minutes or so. I just sort of make a "milk" run when I find fish in more than one place and I also change colors often. Sometimes that little trick will catch a few more fish after they seem to have turned off on a particular color or shape. I switch back and forth from grubs, to tubes, to marabou jigs. Hope this helps you out.

Well.......TT.....My luck was NO better than yours. I Fished that Brush (tree) down below where you were and I might of had two hits. I didn't stay very long. I should of hung around and the bite might of picked up (like it usualy does) 45 minuets before dark. That was the first time all year I didn't catch a fish in that area. If things go well today TNDOE270 and I are going to go and fish Chester Frost. Hope your Minnors are still alive and kicking!!
It was nice meeting you also. GOOD LUCK!!!

Honestly I'm sorry you didn't fair any better than me .. but I'm glad also. Because it means it wasn't ME and my fishing style that didn't produce results ... it was something beyond our control! :)

I hope you and TnDoe find where they are hiding and what they are hungry for. Can't wait to read about the results and look forward to running into you in the woods some time in the future!!!

I know one thing ... in 30 minutes yesterday on the Wolf ... more boats came whizzing by me than the whole two hours I spent there on Sunday. WHERE ARE THEIR FISHING REPORTS? <hands on hips>

A lot of you had to have been up Wolftever ... what were the results?

I plan on trying again this weekend ... with hopefully BETTER results. JMax .. that place you told me about was so crowded with cars by the time I took off from work I didn't stop. Probably would have gotten a ticket for parking on the highway! hahaha .. but it's still on my list!

where- Out of Chester Frost Park-Chicamauga

Went out looking for crappie after work. Didn't do too deadly. I was mostly running around in my boat burning gas. Finanally setttled down in Chester Frost and trolled a little. Caught two in about 7 to 10 feet of water. End of story.

PS--be careful around stumps I couldn't believe my eyes. Around one of the stump beds in the park somebody hit a stump with their prop. All 3 blades of the prop are stuck in the top of the stump, took pix with camera phone but can't put on here yet-need to ask wife how . I tried to pull them out but there in the stump way too deep, now they are very sharp jagged edges about 1 foot deep. The stumps I'm talking about are the ones to the right as you are leaving the launch area. They will definately tear up the bottom of somebody's boat.
