I caught a limit of crappie today on the upper-end of Chickamauga, fishing from 8:00 to 2:00. I had 12 keepers until the wind got up around 11:00 then it took me 3 more hours to catch the final 3 keepers. Two of my keepers were 15” crappie.

All of my fish were caught in 3 ft. of water dropping into 9 ft. I was using an 1/24 oz orange jig head with a yellow, red and white Bass Assassin. These fish appeared to be moving shallow getting ready to spawn.

Good catch, Troit. I did better yesterday than today, but still managed a boat load of fish. Had fun. One of these days, we need to fish together.

Thanks for the report D. Troit. Were the fish that you were on in a creek or out on the main lake? It seems that the big bunches are still close to the main channel. Were most of the fish black or white crappies?

Hey Troit .. I'm glad you got lots of fish too. The ones we caught yesterday were top notch fish! I think out of the 16 I cleaned 5 were 10 to 10.5 inches. The rest .. BIG ONES! I wish I would have measured each of them to see .. but I know I had at least 4 that were off the board! :)

Good report Mr. Troit. I have been meaning to get a hold of you however I have been extreemly busy here lately.
It's good to hear you are still on the fish but from what I hear, it's rare when you are not on the fish! I hope things are going well for you. I will talk to you soon!
