Has anyone on here ever fished for crappie on the big G? Gonna be taking my dad and uncle down there next week and need some pointers as to where to fish and what to use. Was thinking of trolling or maybe hitting the docks but I have never fished for crappie there.

I have caught several while bass fishing and it seems there are plenty of crappie there just never really spent any time on them.

Help?

Hey man! Shoot the docks around Waterfront Grocery and Boshart Creek. I talked to a buddy who fishes G heavy for crappie, and he's lost his trolling bite. He said they are still thick on the outside of Boshart though.

Thanks Brandon. We will be going down there the 15th thru the 18th. I hope to get them on some fish. Both of them are in their 70's and said this would probably be their last trip with me to the lake. Both are getting a little slow and it is hard to get around in the boat.

Last year we didn't get to do our annual trip and I think they both missed it. I usually take them out for about a week somewhere and just let them fish and take them out to eat and let them gab about the good ole days.

My uncle don't get to come up all that often and my dad is getting to where his knees don't work too well anymore. They enjoy the time together and I just hope we have good weather.

Thanks for the info.
