FYI, I primarily guide for crappie during the pre-spawn period and prefer long-line trolling. It is fun for anyone, but especially good for young kids or inexperienced fishermen.

If you are a more advanced angler who is adept at light tackle finesse fishing, and want to learn more about the finer points of locating and catching crappie, you might be best to go with the other guys.

When choosing a guide, be sure to ask if they have the necessary USCG Captains License and TN state guide license.

Mr. Richard Simms is the only legal crappie guide I know of on the lake and a darn good one at that!
