I know this is going to sound skeptical, but here goes anyway. I need help finding some crappie. My grandfather is basically the one who taught me to fish. We always fished off of my uncle's dock on Weiss for crappie with minnows/floats. His name is W.L. Pope and as far as I am concerned he walks on water. We just had a birthday dinner for him Sunday after church to celebrate his 89th birthday and he said he would really like to go one good time. I would love to take him out in my boat at least one more time for some good crappie fishing because I don't know how many more times he will ever be able to go.

I have not crappie fished in years and when we did it was from a private dock as I mentioned before. I have never looked for crappie on Chick. or Nickajack and really need some help. I am not looking for anyone's secret hole or plan on sharing grid coordinates with the world. I truly just want to spend a productive trip with my grandfather so he can catch a lot of crappie and take some pics and video to remember. He can't shoot docks (I can't either for that matter) or anything fancy. He just likes to fish minnows under a float or drop fish. This is a genuine request and not a scam to score your spots. Weather is going to get too cold for him to be out soon so I wanted to get him out while we still have some warm days, preferably this Thurs. You can give suggestions via IM if you prefer. Any help would be appreciated.

There are several docks on the Hixson side of the river straight out from HBSP that should hold several crappie. If you can't fish docks, then try the lay down trees that are abundant in and around the park. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

That's a good start. Thank you. With such short notice I won't have time to hunt around for them and be prepared like I wanted to. Thanks again.
