Went by land Crappie fishing in the W. T. area on Monday and Tuesday after work. I mainly fished wood structure and used minnas and occasionally a chartreuse jig. Monday I ended up with 12 crappie ( 8 which kept ), 3 small bass < 12in. and 3 bream ( 1 that is now in the freezer). All but one of these fish came from the tuffies. Tuesday I managed about 20 Crappie but only 7 that kept. Once again all but one fish came off the tuffies. The water level appeared to have dropped about 1 ft from Monday to Tuesday. However it was still difficult to cast in this area due to water elevation and the trees. I was able to do a little tree trimming each day and managed to get a decent opening to allow a careful cast and let the tuffie do the rest of the work. I caught most of the fish without a float although I did hang up frequently yet the fish appeared to be tight to the structure and in about 10 to 12ft. of water. Both days while fishing I observed several other people Bass Fishing. On Monday I watched one guy pull up on a community hole and catch several decent fish. On Tuesday I observed about 6 boats fish this same community hole and didn't appear anyone caught a single fish. About 45 min. before dark another boat pulled up on that hole (however appeared to a little closer to the bank than the others had been). This guy caught fish after fish and on one cast I witnessed him catch two in one cast. He was not fishing the Tuesday Dog fight but plans on fishing Thurs.
All in all it was nice to get out and catch a few fish for the belly and enjoy the sun going down.
