Crappie fishing was slow for me. Hit a couple of sloughs yesterday, Saturday. Not much happening where I was fishing. Addition of two feet of water and floating trash (pine straw ete.) made it difficult to trolly. I fished two sloughs. One by Bear Trace golf course and one upstream from Bass Bay. Managed to catch 4 crappie, 2 keepers with one catfish, three bass. Using jigs, tipped with minnows. Tried fishing some brush piles with no results. I'm sure crappie are out there bedding somewhere, I just did not try hard enought to find them.
My thoughts fishing will continure to suffer until the water level is steady for a few days. TVA continues to yo-yo and make sudden changes to the lake, just like they told us they would not do. When you raise the lake over two feet in less than 10 days you create a lot of new habitat.
Some bream are being caught. So crappie are out and bream are in.
Take care.

On Good Friday, I took my grandson and son-in-law crappie fishing on the Chick in Harrison Bay and Wolftever Creek. We managed to bring home 10 keeper crappies and one nice bluegill. Had enough for supper for 7 people. Found the crappie in about 8 - 12 ft. of water using live minnows, just drifting. Were all scattered, never could find a bunch. Grandson had a fine time and that's what counts. We stayed from about 7am until 4pm.
