With most softplastic manufacturers impregnating scents in their product would you say that some are worth it when crappie fishing or is it better to focus on visual stratigies to get the crappie to bite?

Scott, I'll give you a famous MadBomber quote. "It can't hurt, and might help." Actually, I use garlic spike-it on the tails and/or heads of the plastics that I use. I have also used the spike-it that is unscented and couldn't tell the difference. Like MB says, scent can't hurt and it might help in some cases. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

I agree w/Drumking. Even if it doesn't attract them that much it can't hurt, I really beleive it helps to mask any of our odors. Especially if you gas up before you go fishing, I have a glove I put on in that deal. I was getting short strikes on crappie one day and all I had was a craw bass attractant, I tried it and never got another hit until I changed out grubs! emoScratch

i'm in the gimic camp for crappie. If it were to make it a difference, it would be only during a deadstick presentation.
