Put in at Dayton with the intentions of fishing for some crappie . Wind blew us off the main river . We braved it for about a hour but couldn't find any . Went back in the slough to bass fish . The water temp. was 39 to 40 degrees . Started with a chrome and blue trap fishing the creek channel . Picked up a 2 lber right off the bat . Changed over to one of my cranks and about 15 mins later got the biggest of the day , a 3.5 lber . Abou a couple hundred yards down the bank stuck what I thought was a monster on the same crank . Fought deep and when it finally came up I was a little disappointed . It was a foul hooked 3 lber . The back hooks was in the roof of its mouth but the front hook was in it's back . Felt like I was draging a log . Pick up a non keeper on a spinnerbait after that but that was it .
