Tough day in the wolf for crappie. Looks like the lake as turned over in the wolf. very stained but it could be from the draining of the lake. lake is also down quite a bit.

we fished 8 til dark 30 in the wolf. We fished with bass assassins in about every color but the one that was most productive was what i coined as the "traffic light" jig. White assassin with a dyed red head and dyed char. tail. we catch somewhere around 30 crappie with 10 being nice keepers. Also caught more yellow bass than a man would ever want. DOES nothing eat those things? there are millions of them. In some places you could catch one every cast for 30 minutes.

It is a great time to take a kid if you want them to get plenty of action.

fish were in all depths 4- 20 feet deep.

Going back Friday!

were you guys trolling or casting? Sounds like fun despite the yellow bass. They will tear you up sometime but if nothing else is biting at least they are entertainment!

I know a lot of people think that yellow bass are a nuisance, but they are wonderful to eat. They need to be about 1/2 pound and up to get a good fillet off of, but they are great tasting. The largest one that I have ever caught and weighed was about 14 ozs. They don't get very big around here. If you haven't tried them, keep about 20 sometime and see what you think. They do not taste anything like white bass. I rate them right up there with shellcrackers in taste.emoGeezer
