Well today was pretty wild. I should have known b/c it is a sunday and the water is slowly coming up over the bars and shallow flats. So I was up on the Hiwassee today and I was near 58 bridge just down the channel. I noticed a cabin cruiser flying under the bridge on the wrong side of the bridge piling. Well also there was a beautiful brand new center console boat with an evinrude 225 on it going under the bridge too ON THE WRONG SIDE!! emoBang I'm to far away for anyone to see me and sure enough the guys in the center console swerve to miss the cabin cruiser and I said to my little cousin oh no. That sand bar with rocks scattered on it is in a half foot of water and they nailed it and you here there motor going up and down. It looked rough. Somehow the motor still worked and they motored on down to look at it. At this point I see another guy run right over a flat and get stuck with two little kids on board. I motored over to help them and the guy had to get in the water and push the boat back in the channel and we pulled him back to the dock. It was his first and last time he told me. I told him how dangerous it can be if you don't know the lake. While I was helping them, the guys in the center console slowly rode by and I asked them if everything was ok. The told me it was all beat up and scratched where they hit the bar.You could tell they were embarrassed and sad.

So Please listen to this advice boatersand don't go out flying around when you don't know anything about where you are boating. It's just not worth spending all the money on these nice boats and then go out with no caution at all.
