I've always been a Texas rigged worm guy and lately have been using a Shakey also with a worm. Am wanting to add a creature bait to my fishing but am not familiar with them. Anyone willing to comment on what types are productive. I know what colors I like but there are so many different styles, I'm not sure where to start.

Thank You.

I think it basically started with the beaver. Now just about every bait company has some sort of version of it. Most all of them work too. Lots of times I’ll just hook a 4” craw on a shakey head and catch fish.

Just my luck LOL Headed over to Bass Pro today and nary a brush hog to be found LOL. I did pick up a similar bait from zoom, the cristie critter I think. Will give it a try.

Walmart’s have baby brush hogs. Watermelon red has worked good in the past. Sometimes Dick’s Sporting Goods has limited edition colors I have not seen anywheres else.

Honestly I normally just throw a ragetail craw. I have allot of creature baits. But that is what I always reach for.

paca craws in the big bites brand, brush hogs and baby brush hogs Always catch fish, rage craw, beavers, I caught six on bed last week with the paca craws

Do you guys throwing the brush have more luck with the baby or regular? They also make an even smaller size right? I used a baby over the weekend with not even a nibble, however I was using an odd color, bull frog I think....

Brush hog was first creature style bait. It's an instant classic. Try tomatoe color or a black and blue depending on water color. If it's clear throw the tomatoe if the water is stained throw the black and blue.
