I stopped at a roadside creek a couple of days ago.
Dug out the rod I keep in my truck and had a blast catching
these pretty little gamesters..

Lots of fun on scaled down tackle.

Caught several bluegill and a bunch of warmouth

Although our lake fishing here is tough no really decent lake close to us, we have several streams , the headwaters of the Holston Rivers (all three), the new river, and several feeder streams which are good fishing and not heavily fished so I really enjoy that type of fishing when I cant get away from work other than just an evening. Where is washington creek located on Lake Chickamauga ?? is it a decent size stream?

. You can fish from the bank or anything that floats.

When I was a kid we would cut the top off an old junk car at the pillars and flip it upside down and float the river....not recommended for big men or rough water by the way.....

though is also looks like it maybe has some small mouth in him also

That's what threw me off was the stripes on his head?
I'll bet you're right about being a shellcracker.
Thanks!

Those fish are warmouth.
Thanks for the info Earl.
We have some super Creek fishing around here.
It's great fun, just don't expect to catch a double digit bass

I know there is Washington ferry ,near Dayton but I think the Creek near there is spring Creek.
Maybe some one else knows.
Warmouth are scattered in a lot of creeks around here.
The Creek I was fishing is loaded with them.
