If he is a good friend .. help him out.
If it's like new you will save on shipping and he will probably have a scope on it already sighted in for a favorite load.

I have had an optima for the past 3 or 4 years. I love it. I've hunted with a muzzleloader for over 35 years and this rifle is by far my favorite. I've killed a bunch of deer with it; two so far this year. I is accurate, easy to load and very easy to clean. That is a key point. To clean it, simply remove the breechplug and put the barrel in a bucket of soapy, hot, water. Run a brush through it several times and let it dry.

Enjoy.

the reason i was interested in it is i know who boyght it new and its not been shot very much, its stainless with fluted barrel and thumb hole stock with a 200 dollar scope he asking 350 for it, thanks for the input.

jump on that. great deal. put a good scope on it and you have as good a deer rifle as a Remington 700 (almost)
