Here is a typical day of eating for me…

5am: big bowl of cereal, around 1-1/2 cups, Kashi berry crumble or similar which is high protein and high fiber, this stuff tastes pretty damn good for a "healthy" cereal - combine with about 1-1/2 cups of fat-free organic cow milk.

630am: 1 cup of egg whites (organic preferably, all natural in a pinch) combined with 1 large organic egg, scrambled with some seasoning salt and topped with some hot sauce.

930am: 1-1/2 ounces of mixed nuts and a protein shake made with 1 scoop of Shakeology® and 1 scoop of whey protein (30 grams) and about 16 ounces of water.

1130am: leftovers from previous night's dinner, usually around 6 ounces of fish or chicken (beef or pork maybe once a week), big serving of vegetables (green beans, zucchini, broccoli, organic frozen vegetable mixture, spinach, kale), and 1/2 cup or so of quinoa or brown and wild rice mix

2pm: a dozen or so organic baby carrots and 2 ounces of hummus and sometimes a good quality protein bar (20g protein), usually Beachbody® but Pure Protein will do in a pinch

4pm: a banana and couple of graham crackers with natural peanut butter or almond butter (pre-workout energy)

630pm: protein shake right after my workout, 1 scoop of Beachbody Fuel Shot®, 1 scoop of whey protein (30g), 1 scoop of creatine (8g creatine, 43g carbs)

8pm: 6-8 ounces of fish or chicken (beef or pork maybe once a week), large serving of vegetables, maybe 1/2 cup of quinoa or wild rice mix, and usually a 1/2 an avocado

930-10pm (right before bed): A small protein shake, 2/3 scoop of whey protein (20g protein) mixed with water, and if I feel like I need a snack I'll usually have 1 piece of Ezekiel raisin bread toasted and topped with all natural peanut butter or almond butter and washed down with a cup of fat-free organic cow milk.

Of course I do mix it up and don't always eat quite this often due to meetings or things going on at work, but this is a pretty typical day for me. Note I eat a lot of protein... American diets in general are very protein deficient and very heavy in carbs/sugars and fats. And I do eat often! People at work are always commenting on how I'm always eating and how I am still so thin… Hmmm, maybe there is something to this...

Another thing I eat a lot of is boiled eggs, one or two a day at times, great protein and nutrients.

I do drink cow milk (non-fat organic), I'm not a big fan of the soy, almond, coconut and other "fad" milks as I have named them. If you do buy them be sure to read the nutrition labels first, a lot of them are high in sugar and fat and have little to no protein. I'm not saying they are bad for you, it's just my preference. I believe cow milk is good for you if you are not lactose intolerant, it is such an excellent source of protein and other nutrients.

I NEVER drink any soda, regular is like eating tablespoons of processed sugar out of a bag, and the diet is filled with artificial sweeteners and chemicals that your body can't process. I think it should be regulated and taxed like alcohol, because it's directly leading to "diabesty" and premature death in millions of Americans, not to mention increased health care and insurance costs for all of us.

Any recipe that calls for sugar I substitute Stevia, which has no calories and is a natural sweetener that your body can digest and process. I highly recommend staying away from aspartame (google "aspartame side effects").

I try to avoid all processed sugars as much as possible, I've never had a sweet tooth and it's a rare occasion for me to indulge, and when I do it's only a couple bites and I'm done for a long time.

I don't eat deep fried food.

I NEVER eat anything from fast food joints, I despise these places and the "food-like" garbage they disguise and pass off as real food. Fast "food" is right there with soda in killing Americans and increasing all of our health care and insurance costs. The only good thing I can say about fast food places is they are a great place to stop at and to drop a deuce when I'm traveling.

I tried Stevia and liked Splenda better. Far as I can find Splenda will not kill you like aspartame (which I cannot stand, diet drinks are gross).

I use the Silk Light. Very low sugar and calories. I only use it on my cereal then pour off the extra. Not good for drinking but not bad on cereal.
