Five days is a slap on the wrist. What kind of fool would hunt in that area and think they would not be caught? Make them pay - take their equipment, clothes and vehicle - anything and everything that has anything to do with the illegal and very stupid and selfish act!

Yeah, he is an idiot. I live next to the VAAP property and let me tell you that I personally think the City, County, and TWRA are going about this war against the hunters the wrong way. And Finbully, for the record, its not hard at all to get in and out of there with a deer. I know of many deer harvested in there over the years.

First off, the property is huge and there is a whole lot more land than just where the auto plant is. That land should have been turned over to the TWRA and turned into a WMA. It was one of the first places whitetailed deer where released when the state started its restocking program in the 40's. Looks to me like they are going to try to turn into a walking park. Also, the two hunts they have allow like 70 hunters and its archery only. Those hunters dont even put a dent in the population, even if everyone of them were successful. I just think turning it to a county park is the wrong decision. For the record, I have never hunted the property, mainly because hopping fences and running from the law is not how I learned to hunt, but I have been in alot of the areas via ATV trails, plus I sale oil to the plant and some of the contractors involved in the construction. Lots of wildlife in there...
