Dangerous trend in hunting

Read this and also do a search (I used the words: bear hunting inCalifornia) for related topics on this issue. New Jersey banned bear hunting several years ago just on the whim of the animal rights people. Wildlife management and hunters had absolutely no voice in the matter.

My prediction: the population will explode. Not enough habitat and food for the bears will result in a rash of bears relying on trash for food. Then after a few attacks, the law will be reversed.

Managment of wildlife is VERY important as human populations expand and habitat is lost. Especially for predator species such as bears, wolves, and mtn. lions

Sportsman being the most effective means of population managment!

Maybe when a few PETA folks get eaten up while they're walking their herd of dogs they may start to question their cause-doubt it!

I doubt it the relatives of the deceased will say something like, well we don't blame the bear, when really if theyd allowed hunting, the bear wouldn't have been there to start with.

churly is right. That is one of the basics of TN Hunter Education classes. Recall they banned mountain lion hunting. Guess what? Lion and human contacts went up.
I invite each one on the forum to do a search on these subjects. I think you will be surprised and bewildered at the same time.

The bear shouldnt get the blame. The jack ass politicians should!
