This will be short...so I figured no sense in doing two posts when I could kill two birds with one stone.

11-4 Monday. Chick @ Harrison Bay. Well I had been reading the reports here about the bass being on the frog bite...and that's something I had never experienced before. So we made the trip down to try hitting some spots for the frog bite. We get to W.T. and launch the boat....and dad says "lets go by the crappie spot first...see if that mega school is still there". We caught one barely keeper white crappie and a short fish, and then the wind started and never let up. I think it actually got worse at times. It was throwing some nice white caps and made it impossible to jig fish...and if you can believe it; made it impossible to troll too. Long story short here...we didn't do much good at all. We couldn't get away from the wind; tried throwing lipless cranks near some of the grass matts that are left...but didn't get bit, and figured for sure that a frog bite would be off with 1-2 foot white caps crashing in. We couldn't find bait fish to save our lives. We fished one little area that was out of the wind A LITTLE BIT...and found a few little pods of baitfish but NOTHING like what we had been finding. Took a screen shot of the graph and then an after pic of what they were. We caught several of these in that area; probably would have caught a bunch more if we stayed. When we left I think there was only one other truck in the parking lot...guess everybody else got tired of fighting the wind too.

11-5 Tuesday. Watts Bar @ Hornsby area. We set out to try and find some of those striper breaks like we found by accident last week. Dad wanted to try his deep brushpile for a crappie or two. That's exactly what he caught too...two crappie. He missed a few more but they weren't being very cooperative. The water had dropped a couple feet from last week too; but was barren of other anglers. It is very clear water for Watts Bar...but still in the low 60s. Long story short here...we left the brush pile and set out after the stripe. The big ones never broke that we saw, but there were a few schools of white bass and smaller stripes that would break for a few seconds and then disappear...then reappear several hundred yards away. We never got into them though. They were always where you had just came from lol I lost a decent fish on a Redeye Shad...but it was my O.E. (operator error). My line was old on the reel I was using and it wouldn't hold a knot...I noticed when I was tying the lure on that it would slip. I thought I had it fixed but evidently not. I got to feel him pull one good time and slack...thought he had broke me off til I got the line in and saw the end of it. That reel later had a malfunction and now resides at the bottom of Watts Bar lake. On the way to the ramp again...we stopped at one last spot and got into the crappie like crazy. Dad, mom, and I had our limit in about 45 mins time. But then a pirate ship came out of no where and took all the fish away from us. All I have to show for it is a pic of the ship. Haha. Slow two days of fishing for us...but it beats work any day...and now I gotta go back to that dreadful place for a few days. Ya'll be good.

That was the Black Pearl that stole your fish, Daniel. I've been there, done that too. It will get better in time. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

There were actually two ships. I only got a pic of one of them. They were just cruising down river. I'm being told via Facebook that they are replica ships of the Columbus voyage. They came from Knoxville over the weekend and are making their way down river.

Wednesday Nov 6. Chic @ Harrison. Same as Monday. Wind. Ended up wind drifting. Only 4 keepers. Still had a good time. That's what it's all about.
