Man what a day and not a good one. Started away from the ramp at safe light with the crazy notion that I might be able to figure something out to help game plan for CFF#3 and stared the morning off shallow in the stumps in chester frost and struck out, ran up river to the plant and struck out, fished more stumps and rock around Harrison bay and struck out, went into wolftever to get out of the wind and struck out, went and worked some creeks south of Harrison bay and struck out, emoBang emoBang emoBang finally strapped the bass rods down and pulled out the crappie stuff and caught a couple of nice slabs late in the day off of shallow rock. Any way back to the ever elusive bass. We fished a foot of water, we fished 15ft of water, we fished points, flats, rocks, humps, sand, gravel, wood, and any other kind of bottom you can find anywhere we found bait we fished. We threw traps, cranks, swimbaits, spinner baits, chatter baits, jerkbaits, shakeys, tx rig, Carolina rig, bama rig in just about every color that is made. We fished where the wind was blowing into, we fished where it was blowing out of, we fished banks the wind was parallel to, we found quite protected pockets and creeks. Only managed 2 LM and only one was barely 15in. I must not be holding my mouth right or something cause I seem to only be able to boat 1 keeper in a days fishing lately. Either that or I need to call an exorcist and have em take the bad juju off my boat. Water temps were low to mid 60's partly cloudy with the wind pushing things around. Thought it was going to be a good day but that's fishing.

We struggled as well... went down toward the dam to get away from the crowds a little. Managed 5 or 6 fish with two keepers. All on a drop shot in about 8 FOW out in front of blow downs.

I tell you what, they are eating really good right now. Just keep at it and you will eventually run into them. That warm south wind is making the bigger ones very hungry! I found water as warm as 68 today. DT6,traps,and chatter/swimbaits have been our ticket. Thanks for the report!

To say it was crowded today would be an understatement. It was packed. We struggled too. Just managed a couple of short ones off of traps.

I agree with you, It is extremely touch out there, Fish this afternoon around the Nuclear Plant area with 1 keeper, a crappie and a cat all on a trap. Good news I had the Lake to my self emoBang emoBang

It's a little frustrating sometimes. I made a few bass trips this past week and besides one good day ( drop-shot ) the rest were just terrible. I thought the "trap" bite might be good on some of these windy days...not ! A good thing I brought my crappie rods for a back up plan but they were few and far between also.
