Well, my day started rough. I started the truck, hooked up the boat and then realized that somehow my doors were locked with the engine running. My wife is out of town, with the spare key, just great. This was at 1:10am, I finally broke into the back window and then we started off all wet and never got dry again. We started the night off in Wolftever and I tagged our first and biggest keeper on a T-rigged worm in about 5-8 feet. We caught a few more from the same area but only one more keeper, all on Texas rigged worms that were purplish. We went to an old roadbed by Island Cove and I caught another keeper right off the bat on a 1oz purple spinnerbait with a huge Colorado blade. Michael boated a non keeper on a Lucky Craft Crankbait, medium diver. We decided to try some main lake humps and drops when the bottom fell out so we just booked over to WT bridge to wait it out, yeah I know, but like I've said before, I hate fishing in the rain. I lost a good one on the rip rap on the spinner bait. When the rain finally quit we went to a large cove that I usually do well in with topwaters early. I was throwing a black buzzbait and Michael was chunking a black Zara Puppy, or the next size up. I had some seriously huge hits on the BB but couldn't really connect when I finally did, my drag was loose and missed her. We managed a couple more few more keepers on the topwater with about 10 non keepers. At least we could cull one of the smaller fish. Michael acutally had a fat toad that was just under 15 inches but probably weighed 1/2 more than one that we weighed in. Finally hit the humps and missed a couple more before just heading in. My underwear was wet and we all know how fun that can be. Michaels rain jacket was more of a sponge than a jacket and he was miserable. We were just happy to weigh in a limit, less happy with the way my "new" motor runs but that's another issue all together. All in all we had a great time, I really need to meet more of you guys but I always just hang around. Great job again Jmax and thanks to Flip for the scales. It was kinda neat to see several familiar faces waiting for everyone to arrive.
