A 1-2 mile run to the river from Dayton boat dock but there is a no wake zone @ Blue Water CG. I can't comment on which is better as I don't fish up there.

Richland creek gets restocked from the tx, like CFP. When I lived there, we launched at Dayton boat dock, but everyone ran some place else, kinda like the grass is greener............ I would fish the sloughs no further north than Cottonport , Hiawassee, and no further south than Hwy. 60 bridge if I launch at Dayton. That gives you about twenty miles of river to fish.

Good fishing on the entire lake.... just that the different styles of fishing will depend on the types of structure you fish and where.

coming out of that slough from Dayton boat dock is a little tight with a lot of boats coming through so be careful. Also there is a now wake from bank to bank in front of the resort or camping area.
