Well the 1st tournament for the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series for East Tn Division has come and gone. Yesterday we were on Lake Guntersville. This was only my 2nd time fishing the lake. I was paired with a good guy who wasn't strict and taught me quite a bit. Also made a new friend. We blasted off just after 6:15 am. Went north to Mud creek. This place was filled with boats but there was no action other than my boater catching a 14 incher. After about an hour or so in there we started back down river and hit isolated coves. We threw the kitchen sink at em. I was throwing a Jerry Malone white Chatter bait with a white trailer. Landed a nice keeper. Then tied on a Jerry Malone Green Chatter bait and landed my last 2 keepers. I had my 3 fish limit at 1130. My boater also tied on a Chatter and landed his first keeper. We keep heading down river hitting banks, and then ended up in North Soddy creek at the bridge where everyone and there mom was throwing the Rig. I landed another on a Spinner bait by the bridge but it was smaller than my keepers. It was a tough day on Guntersville. But I was fortunate enough to have weighed in a 3 fish limit for 8.75. Payout on the co angler side was at 9.09 leader was just at 11 I think. So I wasnt far out of the money and plus I got some good points. The next 2 are on Chickamauga which I am looking forward to. Good time, had fun, caught fish, and learned a few things, what else can ya ask for? Water temps were warmer in mud creek, around the mid 60's then dropped a little as we got closer to goose pond.
