decent cat day 8-12-2006

I haven't seen much from the cat guys since last week so I'll post about our trip yesterday. We started out trying to find some white bass somewhere other than the nuke, no luck. Then we headed to the dam to try for some blues. They were there and in numbers. There were 3 other boats down there and everyone was catching fish. Nothing big though, an 8 pound blue was our biggest of the day. We had 2-6#, 1-5#, 1-4# and the rest were 1-3"s for a total of 15. Sorry, no pics, I forgot my camera again.
We caught all our fish on chicken livers and jello/garlic shrimp and weinners. Had a couple good hits on some cut shad but no takers.

What type of areas were you fishing? It sounds like DHaun and drc were on some bigger fish. I would expect that they were on some deep main lake humps but I haven't asked. I have been marking lots of good fish off a drop on the main lake but really haven't tried very much. Did try some little shad yest but only got a crappie and a stripe. I know that there are good fish down there however, I can see them.

We fished the humps right at the dam mostly and some channel dropoffs upstream. That is untill my trolling motor depth finder went kaputt. We cut our trip short because of that and the downpour rains.
I have already replaced the Garmin that came on the boat on the console and it looks like I will probably have to replace the one on the trolling motor now. Not sure yet though as I had to leave town today and didn't have time to check it out.emoBang

DK it will be at least 2 weeks before I will be able to go again. I am in Missouri on a big job now. I'll be coming home for the picnic and leaving back out next Sunday. I guess you'll have to get Dr. Phil to help you give the cats the sore mouth. I'll be fired up and ready to go as soon as I'm finished out here.

Cheez if you would learn how to wire a depth finder it might work. Oh yeah i thought you knew the difference between a catfish and a drum because i know those fish you caught had to be drum.

They might have been drum, from the posts everyone else has put up, catfish are a lot bigger than what we were catching.
I might need to start all over. Maybe get you to show me how to wire a depthfinder and get rsimms or drc to show me what a catfish isemoScratch
