Hey brother, I'm an old fashioned fisherman, if you want to catch bluegill which are deep right now, I'm using a 3/4 oz. sinker on the bottom with my hook tied into the line about twelve inches up from the sinker. I've been baiting up with simple red worms and I've been filling the live well every time I go out. I've been tearing them up by bouncing my sinker off of bridge pylons and letting it go to the bottom and slowly reeling in to the boat. Be ready to tie on a lot of sinkers and hooks because you will get hung quite a bit. But you will get hung more on the fish's lips as you pull in the slabs of fish for your freezer. Best of luck!

Well, I'm sorry but I can't help you with the bass because I've been unsuccessful thus far in catching those little varmits. I'm only 26 years old so I figure I've got a few more years to figure it out. As for tying up your drop shot, its easier to show than tell, but I'll tell you how I do it. First, tie on your hook about 18 inches up the line from the end. Simply use a regular knot to tie it at this point. Now hold your hook and double up the line so that there are now two 3 inch pieces of line parallel with one another. Now tie another knot in the line using what you have there in your hand. Remember that when you are finished your hook is going to dangle off the side of the line about 2-3 inches. That will help you when tying the knot. When you have that knot tied, your hook should now dangle off to the side of the line. Tie one more knot just like you tied to make sure it is secure and then tie on a sinker on the end of the line and you are ready to go, Like I said, its easier to show than to tell. I hope you can make some sense out of that.

I fish the dropshot alot like everyday and I fish it from 10' deep to china also around dock's.I like to have the hook at least 16'' from the sinker and this is why. After you hit bottom, you then bounce that sinker on the bottom a few times like your ringing the dinner bell. Then lower your rod tip 16'' and let your bait sink slowly to the bottom and lieve your line limp and watch for a bite. Then you can iether bounce the sinker again or shake your rod tip alot and make your bait wiggle or you can real up a few feet and let it fall back to the bottom. What ever action you give it don't pause with a tight line you need to have slack in your line when your done moving .If your line is tight when you get a bite the fish will feel you and the sinker and spit the bait. That's why I like at least 16'' between hook and sinker it gives you some room to work with. And you can speed fish with a drop shot too it's not just a finess deal.I like a brown sinko diped in, dip it hooked in the head or a 4'' finess worm hooked waky or in the head some day's they like one or the other.

thanks for the tip bassallday. I've never tried it that far up, better believe, I'll be givin it a try this Friday. I'll let you know how it works for me.
