Left the house at 4:30 am this morning and drove to Flat Rock, Alabama ( to my hunting club ) to see if the deer would move before this front came in.
Too late, it beat me to the woods ( Bad Weather and a lot of it ) emoRain emoRain emoDoh The only thing that was moving was me and that pine that I was in. I don't think I could have hit one if he was in the tree with me. I stayed in the tree until 11:30 am and had enough emoGoofy I'm not sure why I went in the first place, should have stayed in bed. It's 3:30pm now, time for a nap emoSleepy

You never know until you go... you can't kill 'em on the couch... when the weather gets tough, the tough get going... be proud for trying, and enjoy your nap. emoThumbsup

One reason you went is cause you are as hard headed as I am emoPoke Here is why ya go on days like this...this lil feller was killed on a morning just like this one cept it was a bit colder. I proud of ya for trying.

don't feel to bad f/m i'm headed out to illinois wendesday for two weeks and they are exspecting more of this wet stuff during the week. and they always have the wind. emoTongue emoProtest

emoBawl Then there are the guys like me who had to work all day today. I traveled between here and Charleston today and saw at least 10 deer, and tons of turkey between noon and 3pm. I was wishing I was in the trees today.
Glad someone got to go today! Things are about to get good I think!

That is for sure.  I have observed that the mid day movement has picked up and more deer are being seen on a regular basis now.  I have found several moc scraps this week and a bunch of fresh rubs on trees in the creek and marsh bottoms.  They are getting ready for the big dance.</p>

Is it that time of the year Alvin, good luck in Illinois, I know you see a lot of good bucks out there. You mentioned wind, the weather this morning said 10 - 15 mph I had gust of 40 mph. But anyway, I hope your trip goes very well. Look forward reading your post. Will this be during the rut up there?
