Didn't get back from hunting until after 2:00AM last night. Stopped at a friend's deer camp where they had afreshkilled doe leg ready to eat. They had covered it in Everglade spice and split it open for more even cooking. It stayed in the smoker six-seven hours. "Perfect"!!! Quartered potatoes baked in tin foil. Barbecuesauce over chunks ofPineapple, Baked beans.

We had a huge visitor after midnight who came to camp for the leftovers. She showed upFridaynight as well and took it on herself to clean up the campsite. She leftFridaywith a bloodcurdlingscream. Last night she stayed about twenty yards out from the edge of the lighted area. Thecarcassfrom doe was left for her and her family away from camp but she chose to come for the leftovers. She is a big mountain lion who has three cubs tagging along. I sure hope that no one chooses to shoot her. Not bothering anyone other than the screams at 3:00 AM.

i hunt on cagle mountain also. are you on a hunting club where you seen this mountain lion? just wondering how close i might be to where it was spotted

We did not try to feed her. She raided the camp unexpectedly. The deercarcasswas thrown off the bluffs away from the camp. Her finding a deer neck, ribs and more in the wild will not have her associate it to humans. . We think she is living in one of the many caves below the bluffs. We do not stay at the camp except on the week-ends so she will not get accustom to people's scraps. Good point, Thanks. I will see to it that nothing is left for her to find in the camp area.

I sure hope no one shoots her. I keep a quick shoot camera handy while hunting and I hope the see her and her cubs from my treestand.
