Can anyone recommend a good processor near Chattanooga. I know everyone says Ed's in Cleveland but are there any other options? I prefer to do it myself....but the wife says different.

Owner is Mike Dunn, he is a certified butcher with BiLo. Good guy and they have been doing mine since I moved here six years ago. Very clean, very professionally done and packaged. You can skin it or just field dress it, they do it all.

I agree with Jmax. Mike Dunn is a great deer proccessor. The fee is 60 bucks and hasn't gone up in 3yrs. They don't keep meat from the deer either. I have been using him since the first deer more than 15 yrs ago and really like doing business there.

I skin and quarter mine in the field after I check it in. He charges me $50.00 to process it for me from there. I believe the $60.00 is when you bring in the whole deer and have it skinned there. They also store the heads and racks for mounting. I am not sure who they use for mounting. Good folks all around in there and they stay very busy this time of year. emoThumbsup Jmax

...does any one know someone here that processes summer sausage or jerky?

There a guy in Mcminn county that does it. Blankenship is his name. I can get number for you if you want it.
