....In TN anyways. I dont know what to do with myself now. I was having so much fun and all of the sudden its over. I went to middle TN this weekend where I had the pleasure of seeing some "second rut" activity as a nice 8 and a spike were pushing a doe around. after 20 minutes the deer finally came up on the bench I was on. When the 8 got on the bench I had to stand up to shoot through the brush and weeds, all I could see was from his neck up, so i guestimated where his shoulder would be be. Shot and missed, the deer was actually standing facing me and I sent a bullet harmlessly past him. Upon the shot he lunged toward me and straight up the mountain and I slung a hail Mary as he bounced through the trees. I knew I messed up and went to where they were standing. I was looking around in leaves, just in case, when I noticed blood running off my face. Yep I scoped my self on both free handed shots. Got a nice busted nose and forehead to show all of my customers this morning. The cuts blend really well with all of the lovely scars I already have, including another scoping incedent 20 years ago, and a mellanoma removal surgery scar. That aside it was a great hunt, weather was nice and cool and 3 of us saw over 30 animals in 2 days. So thats how I wrapped up the season.

this years total for me:

a doe with my bow in TN
A 9 in KY with rifle
A 10 in TN with rifle

I was lucky enough to shoot 3 wild boar this year as well, so with 3 deer and 3 pigz, my freezer is ready for winter. Cant wait till next year to do it all again! I think next year will be different as my little girl is dying to go to the woods.

I'm curious how everyone else did; the good, the awsome, the bad, and the disgusted...lets hear it!

emoThumbsup I wish I had been able to fill my freezer with 1 but I don't hunt and I guess everybody had low freezers so ==== I'll get him next year maybe... emoGeezer

I was snakebit after killing my first REAL buck, never again will I hunt antlers. I killed a doe Friday, and didnt see a thing Sat or Sunday. Total for me, 2 measly deer. I usually put 6-10 in the freezer, summer sausage, etc. I think im gonna have to hammer Alabama a few times before its all over. LOL

My dad hunted a big 7 but never was able to get a shot. I killed a spike for a little meat this past Fri. Only thing I got. Not alotta time since we fished most season but Imma change that next year. I missed getting to go this year. Congrats on your season.

After popping my two in AR I just never could get the desire to go here in TN. Two nice deer in the freezer is all I need for my better half and me to have burger and minute steaks for most of the year. emoAngel Now if my son comes down and raids the meat freezer I may wish I had one or two more from TN. ;) Jmax

Our crew, which consists of my self and one other paying member brought several other guests to our puny 220 acres on Jumpoff Mtn.

20 deer total with 5 men shooting.
5 bucks 15 anterless
Best one an 8pt shot by buddy's nephew, 1st deer ever.

I got one good one in Ga now I have three weeks to make my Ala license pay off.....

I hunted two good deer in different areas never killed either one of them. killed small deer during bow season saw a lot of small bucks throughout the season just never saw anything I wanted to shoot, my son killed two small bucks so im getting to eat good, maybe next year ill get to see whats making all those big rubs and beautiful breeding scrapes.

Enjoyable read... I got a Smoke-pole scope laceration a few years ago shooting at a big Eight, Powerbelts will not leave a blood trail at all. I heard him crash up so I knew I had him. Now the funny part ... I was searching for any sign of blood where I shot the Buck, Finally I spotted the first drip. Then another then as I was going away from the line i had watched the buck travel... It hit me. I was following my own blood trail....

I ended up with a Bonus 6 point on Prentice Cooper a Ten on opening day and a equally big Eight on day two. Then I started shooting videos and never pulled the trigger again. Great and productive year for me. It is not over yet. My Juvie son is going this weekend.

It was a GREAT season for myself and my grandson with the younger of the two harvesting the largest buck. I got a 6 pt for the freezer that just kept giving too many oppertunities for a shot with the muzzleloader. Robert made my season by getting a beautiful 8 pt that he is excited about still and waiting for the mount to be complete. These were the only two this year but the memories shared will last a life time!

One day while dove hunting this year I decided to shot the muzzelloader, same gun has cut me twice. I enjoyed your story. you really had a good year.

not for me, I am hunting in Alabama and my season doesn't end till Jan 31st. So far I have gotten a doe and a 6 point, both last saturday 2 minutes apart. shot the doe and then hit the bleat and the 6 came right in. 2 shots , 2 deer. freezer could hold more but we wont eat more than that so I don't take more than we need, of course I am going to take my 12 year old nephew and let him get one for their household, congrats to all on your season. time to think fishing.....

I didn't even get to go this year. Now that the season is over, I'm taking two of my grandsons and scouting for turkey and deer for the 2013 season. They see deer and turkey from their bedroom windows but they are in the city! I found that hunting and fishing sure beat working. :D

A button head (mistaken for a doe) last day of muzzle-loader. A freakish 5pt, one antler growing toward his nose, the other toward his butt, the next day with gun. emoLaugh . Both will eat ok.

LOL nice job sniper! emoLaugh Just kidding we have all been there!

My count this year:

6 pointer---Muzzleloader

10 pointer---7mm Rem Mag

Doe---7mm Rem Mag

All from Hamilton county on the West Sieeeede!

I killed an 8 point during archery. Then passed on everything that walked by waiting on a big nocturnal buck I got a few trail cam pictures of. He never surfaced during daylight. maybe next year.

5 here , spike and doe with bow on Halloween, 8 point and doe opening day of rifle, and a button buck mistaken for a doe with my slug gun.
