I ain't a master chef, but you might try this recipe. And, it's fairly simple.

1 lb. of venison, cut into cubes
3 or 4 'taters, cut into 1/2" blocks
1 or 2 carrots
1 medium onion, diced
1 large can of diced 'maters
8 oz of elbow macaroni
garlic powder, salt, pepper - all to taste

Slowly boil the meat about 15 minutes. Drain it. Add vegtables, cover with water and bring to a boil. Cook for 2 hours at a slow boil.

Next, add stewed tomatoes and macaroni. Let her cook about another 2 hours. The main thing is to make sure that the taters and carrots are done, the rest will take care of itself.

Oh yeah, don't forget to make a big pan of cornbread!!

Hope that you enjoy it.

I put one ot these in the crock-pot early Sunday morning, didn't even look at it until about 2:00 PM, when I added the elbow macaroni. We ate around 5:00 PM, and SON, was it right!!!!emoThumbsup

I am gonna try this tomorrow with a little difference. I did a Boston Butt pork roast in the crock pot today - just about my favorite meal with cut corn, field peas, turnip greens and corn bread. I kept the juice and fat from the roast and am going to put the stew ingredients in it and cook it. Any thoughts on what this will do? I often put some pork fat - bacon, streak of lean, fatback - with venison to make it more moist.

Don't know why but I have a hard time following a recipe. Not only did I use the pork roast juice I added a rib of celery cut up into chunks. Didn't have any diced tomatoes - used them up on another dish last night - so I added Rotel - diced tomatoes with chile peppers. And I put in too many carrots and potatoes.

Cooking in the crock pot right now - I will report back!

Next time I swear I am gonna follow your recipe.

I put everything but the noodles in the crock pot and left, planning on getting back in time to put the noodles in. SEVERAL hours later after a dead battery in my truck and other problems I got home. Glad it was not on the stove - had that experience with a pot of string beans one time, involved the fire department, but that is another story.

Anyway, by the time I got home the meat had cooked to pieces and the vegetables were pretty soft. I took the veggies out and was going to add the noodles but the meat was just tiny pieces, and didn't seem nearly enough. I got out a pack of ground venison and browned it and added it to the juice with a cup of water, let it cook another hour then added the noodles.

It is really good, like meaty macaroni with potatoes and carrots, but not what I started out to make. My wife likes it too. Ended up with about twice what I expected when I started. We both had it for lunch today - she usually doesn't like stews and soups but ate a bunch of this.

I will try again - your recipe sounds good and I am going to follow it EXACTLY next time.

You know wally world has this great seasoning called beef stew seasoning. Just follow the directions and mmmmmmmmmm. Make some cornbread and eat away
