If you have a transducer mounted on the outside of the transom, it may be coming out of the water at any speed above idle speed. If that is the case simply loosen the bracket and slide the transducer down just a little. This type of transducer has to be in contact with the surface of the water or you will get crazy readings. If you need help with it just let me know.

We had that problem in our 520 ranger we had to keep moving the transducer around till it would read right at high speeds ( or at least as fast as a ranger will run)

any thing above 7 mph it want read or show any thing just water temp and speed witch is done by gps fro 6/7 all the way to 63mph it want read nothing but 6 or less it does fine i have it mounted as low as i can i know it ant comming out of the waterit is 1" from the bottom of the boat

Mine does it sometimes mostleyin rough water. If you epoxy it in the sump inside your boat at the lowest spot it will help greatly. Hopethis helps.
