I am getting ready to buy a new depthfinder and i have made my mind up that i am going with the HB but i don't know which to buy the down imaging or the side imaging. what do you guys suggest.

What size are you you looking at?

They come with both down and side imaging.

I am wanting one with a 7" or bigger screen, my eye sight isn't as good as it used to be.

If you can afford it go with with the 998. It has side imaging and down imaging. Or if you want even bigger go with the 1198. I own a 998 and love it !

the 998 is the one i have been looking at. I found it on ebay for $1660.00 can i get a refurbished any cheaper or would you go with a new one

I have the 998-paid 1999.99 for it. Worth every penny even though I still am not good at using it.

Earlier in the year I bought a 798 with both si & di and enjoy it. I would think it would be super if you can afford the larger screen. I got mine from BBG Marine Electronics. New and off the internet I had no sales tax.

If you check bassboatcentral.com you can probably find a used one even cheaper. Most of the people over there wont jip you, they are pretty honest. But that's not a bad price for a new one at all.</p>
