What if any devices do you all have for lining up your hitches? Very vew trucks I have looked at have these although I know they can be ordered. One dealer rep said he heard of some kind of device from a Home Depot.

Are you looking at new trucks? My GMC has the back up camera mounted in the tailgate handle and its the bomb shines right on the ball and you can see it day or night.

they also sell a 2 flag magnet system, you put one on the ball and the other on the trailer, then just back up untill the 2 flags touch and you are there, they have them at walmart, sports mans, and acadamey , they work good from what i hear, but i just do it the old fashion way and get it close then muscle the trailer over

Yes, looking at new trucks; the ones with the camera are on the high end models in the 40,000 & up range. I'm trying to stay in the 30's.

On the 2 flag magnet system...yes that is what I had in mind. But bear in mind I can "muscle" the boat trailer a few inches. Its the work trailer which is a dual axle flat bed I don't feel confident that I can muscle as it comes in at 3500 #

Thanks for the replies

I bought a 2010 GMC 1500 Z71 Crew Cab Loaded out leather and all with a back up camera. Bought it brand new last year for 34k at Jackson in LaFayette haggle the crap out of em. It's MSRP was around 42k

Have em at Northern Tools also. Instead of flags...it looks like two tennis balls. They are telescopic....but I can't remember if they extended above my tailgate.

i have the tennis balls on the telescopic rods and they work good and are less than 20 dollars. but you can buy the backup cameras for around 100 dollars. just depends on what kind you want

I keep a one inch metal bar that is about five feet long in my work trailer. I can easily pinch the tongue back and forth.

A piece of pipe or a 2 x 4 edgeways would work. ACE Hardware sells a 5 foot hardened pinch bar for $22.00
