I took my son fishing during Spring break. It was cold and windy the first few days of the week keeping us fishing off the beach with no luck. It finally warmed up a bit later in the week and we learned that Spring fishing was just beginning. Spanish were schooling nearshore in large numbers while trout, pompano, and a few flounder were eating as well sight fishing off the clear water lit up off the beach.
The big bonus was locating a massive school of sheepshead on some deep structure nearby in the bay eating pompano jigs tipped with shrimp making it a memorable trip. Glad to see things are finally warming up - The first Cobia of the season was caught yesterday (67lbs) so that's started - the big Spring sharks and bull reds are feeding again as well so things have gone from very slow to pretty good within 10 days - Water temp is 64.
