I took a couple days off work to fish my favorite area over the long weekend. I know a few of you are headed down to visit nearby so I thought a report might be useful. We had to stay inshore some due to the wind but did make it offshore a couple of days now that things have calmed down after the storm. It’s amazing that its 10-15 degrees cooler in FL than it was in Chattanooga!

Inshore we targeted trout, reds, and flounder catching all 3 off the same oyster bar around St. Vincent Island. Offshore we caught a similar variety including AJ, King, Snapper 20 miles out near the bridge rubble reefs.

July typically brings calm seas so hoping for some good weather in 2 weeks when I have more vacation planned - Hope everyone had a great 4th!

Man, your catching all those good eating fish!!! It's been a long time since I've had some grilled flounder!!

I love the report and the pics, David. You all did good. That snapper looks awesome. Catch and release or did you keep a couple for dinner? emoBigsmile emoGeezer

Man, you guys wear them out down there. Super fish. Makes me want to move back to the coast someday. Thanks for the report.

Thanks - believe it or not DK I am not a big fan of snapper and typically release them, but DLancas has a freezer full now after we caught a limit in the short season you can finally keep a few this year. I have a shortage of freezer space so I prefer to keep the Mahi stocked instead of snapper, just tastes better to me :)
