Difference in 997c SI and 998c SI

I have an oppertunity to buy a 997c SI at a great price, but wanted to know what the difference between the 997 and 998. emoScratch

The 997 was replace by the 998. Both do the same thing with the latest software.

998si has a newer processor, a video out port and better base maps. You would still prefer a navionics chip versus the upgraded base maps, the video out is for putting the video to a monitor and the processor speed probably wouldn't justify the cost. I just upgraded from a 797si and...still am asking myself why? I still say if it looks different, fish it..I gained a bigger screen, have dual freq side imager, but ask myself if it was worth it...still out on that.
