Allright guys and gals. After using Davo's map card in my GPS at Old Hickory the other day, I have decided that it is a must have. I am trying to find out the difference in the cards. The Navionics brand covers 4 regions and have at least 2 levels. (Gold, Platnium) Hot Spots has a card with different regions and a Pro \ Elite levels. My question is what is the difference? I know what Davo's showed me, but the Hot Spots card has GA, AL, and TN on the same card. I would use all of those more. I have heard the difference in levels is the contour lines, some are set at 10 ft, some at 5ft, and some at 3ft. I need to know. If you have one for sale, I may be interested, I really want to start using these, especially on these new lakes I have not been on in a while. Douglas, Loudon \ Tellico, ETC.

What do you know? Let me know!

I have a garmin with the fishing hot spots program, and it is pretty accurate. It has contour lines and bouys marked along with fish attractors. It also has descriptions of fishing areas on some lakes. This is the only GPS map program I have used, so I no input on the other brands. I have heard from some that the navionics is good, but I will be interested to hear others who have it.

It is called Mapsource for Garmin, and has 10' contours

you may try bassboatcentral.com there are alot of folks on there with the GPS depthfinders and they may be able to help you a bunch!

I have used both. I prefer Hot Spots Elite. The Navionics enhanced (1 foot contours in some, not all areas) map cards leave a lot to be desired. I specifically looked for known ditches on Chickamauga and they were not defined. The zoom range is limited to 1/8 mile, which affects accuracy if you are trying to navigate to a spot via the map page because your position indicator arrow will cover several feet with this zoom range. The 1ft contour lines are mostly along the old river channels, which in my opinion are useless.

Lowrance’s new Fishing Hotspots Elite Pro has included street and road details, added Alabama to the East map (something Garmin had originally), corrected some contour lines and added more lakes. Contour lines go down to 5ft, which is adequate. You can get these maps from Provantage for around $56.
