Yesterday about 5:30 coming back in to Chester Frost after 4 hrs at the nukes when some numb nut aimed right at us he pressed hi boat between another boat and ours with out any concern for the welfare of others i had my wife 13 yr old daughter and my mother she knew doc and mosses emoPoke emoLaugh what was a nice ride in to load turned into a bad experience for my daughter and mother. my mother has had a great fear of boats and water after something happened yrs ago on her boat then dummies like this what was bad was i let my daughter Rachael drive in when this happened when i grabbed the wheel she was in tears. it was a black pleasure boat and the people that were in it just starred at us like it was a game.why am i telling you all this? i just want you all to be careful, just because these people can buy the boat doesn't mean they know how to operate it, like the saying goes you cant fix STUPID!!!!! know what i mean Vern"emoGeezer

Every day I spend on the water, I see another idiot. Fishing Thursday night, well after time for lights to be on, my wife spotted something moving in the channel.... a couple of jetskidiots doing about 50mph in the dark running up the river dodging boats. Also saw a runabout idling upstream at night in the middle of the channel.... front red/green lights were on... but the stern light wasn't. From the back it disappeared... you couldn't see it. That was an accident waiting to happen.

One thing that i forgot to add was that my wife and i went fishing alone at the start of the morning and at about 11:30 we docked at the main dock at Chester frost and ran home to get the family and when we got back the positive cable on the battery was loose and it wasn't when we left that morning someone tried to take the battery i check stuff like that. could not believe that someone tried that in broad daylight but i guess if you do it under everybody's nose they don't think anything of it. </p>

I was fishing sat night on the river and it was busy with pleasure boats I actually had 2 cabin cruisers idle by me while fishing near the channel lookin for smallies on the drops, They had been full throttle but slowed down to a crawl when they got near me .. I was SHOCKED and waved to thank them.
But I did see several Idiots as well, one guy in a black boat about 34 footer and he was doing prob 60 maybe more .. aint never seen a boat that big going that fast.. he was using the buoys for an obstacle course, the buoys where rocking back and forth from the current , and one moved right and he clipped it .. it didnt sound good at all. he slowed down and stopped, but must not have done much damage he revved it back up and left he didnt come back .. I bet he took a good chunk out of it !

If you sit at the boat ramp .. and watch the follies about 12 -2 pm you will laugh so hard you may even pee your pants .. people who have no business with boats, never even asked how to launch or start the new boat they just bought, one guy couldnt fig out why the engine started but he couldnt go any where .. his outboard was trimmed all the way up and he was grinding away his impeller with no water running thru the motor.. I hollered at him to trim the motor down and he said what does that mean .. hollering at me over the engine while he proceeded to ruin his engine .. you would think that If you buy a new boat the dealer would show them or at least give them a booklet or something on proper use of the boat .. they might but apparently some never read it .

They really should make it mandatory that you have a boater safety course at bare minimum when you buy a boat, mandatory insurance , etc like a car .. but I guess there aren't enough officers to cover all the water.. or even the ramps, they do good to watch the roads.

AS A NEW MEMBER I HAVE ENJOYED READING ALL THE POST. I DIDN'T WANT THIS TO BE MY FIRST REPLY. BUT I HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THE IDIOTS TOO. I WAS FISHING A NIGHT TX OUT OF SULLIVAN'S ON THE 15TH AND I RAN DOWNTOWN BUT BEFORE I GOT ANYWHERE CLOSE WE HIT 5 TO 6 FT SWELLS AND I ASK MY PARTNER IF HE COULD SEE ANYTHING. HE SAID NO. WE WERE ABLE TO MANAGE THROUGH THE WAVES LIKE KENTUCKY LAKE IN A GOOD STORM. THEN WE SAW A LARGE BOAT SETTING DOWN SEVERAL HUNDRED YARDS IN FRONT OF US THOUGHT HE WAS BEING COURTEOUS. BUT NO HE WASENT HE GOT ON IT AND IT LOOKED LIKE A 60 OR 70 FT BULLET COMING OUT OF THE WATER AND HE WENT SIDE TO SIDE CAUSING AN AWFUL WAKE. WE FINELY GOT UP THERE TO PASS IT AND NOTICED IT WAS THE NEW TN AQUARIUM BOAT. AFTER WE GOT PAST WE HAULED BUT TO TRY TO GET TO OUR FIRST SPOT. WE GOT THERE AND SAT THE TRITON DOWN. THEN WE HAD TO CLEAN OUR DRAWERS OUT. WE STARTED FISHING ON A POINT AT THE ISLAND AND 5 MINUTES LATER HERE HE COMES. I SWEAR IT LOOKED LIKE HE WAS DOING 60 MPH. THE WAKE WAS SO BAD WE ALMOST GOT THROWN IN. JUST WANTED TO BLOW OFF A LITTLE STEAM.
